The unsweetened matcha is the one people call the only proper one in town, which is a distinction in Billings worth taking seriously. Stroopwaffles and monkey bread are the pastries to know. A drip coffee from whatever they are roasting that day is the cleanest read on the roaster itself. Now the catch, and it matters. The wifi has been broken on and off, the outlets do not all work, and this is a downtown block where parking is metered or garage. The size of the room makes it look like a laptop spot, and it has been one in the past, but right now it is not a reliable one for a long working session. Show up for the early hour, the matcha, the fresh-roast program, and the chance to drink something that was a green bean a few days ago. Bring a hotspot if you need to work. Park a block over and walk. The early-rise contingent and the matcha drinkers who hate sugar bombs are the natural fits for the place, and the room rewards them with a real downtown morning. If you came for a flawless laptop afternoon, the infrastructure is not currently there to back that up, and the team has not solved it yet. The coffee is the case for the visit. Everything else around it is what it is until they sort the wifi out.
