Rusty Dog has no public hours. The address on Progress Road in Madison is a roastery, not a cafe, and the front door is closed to walk-ins. The retail side runs through online orders, wholesale accounts, and a winter holiday market where Manny and Tony sell direct one weekend a year.
The Magic Espresso V.1 blend is the most-named bag. The Short Sighted blend and the Colombian round out the regulars list, and the organic syrups deserve a mention of their own. The pumpkin spice in particular gets named again and again, and the appeal is the same as the rest of the operation: it's organic, made without the artificial stuff that haunts grocery-aisle syrups, and shipped fast enough that subscribers stop bothering with the chain alternative. A neighboring shop owner is on the wholesale side, which says something about how the local cafe scene rates the beans.
If you live in Madison and want to buy in person, the winter market is your window. The rest of the year, this is an online and wholesale operation: large bags, fast turnaround, a small lineup that does what it says, and good answers when you email a question. Not a destination address. A reliable supplier.
