Savannah Coffee Roasters

Savannah Coffee Roasters is in a big converted warehouse with exposed brick, leather armchairs, a fireplace lounge and quieter spots upstairs. The company traces its roots back to 1909, when Edgar R. Morrison opened the Savannah Coffee Company at 130 Bay Street.

They roast small batches on-site in a roasting room you can see behind the counter. The honey vanilla latte and the iced macchiato with house-made toffee syrup are the signature drinks. There's a full breakfast and lunch menu. The pavlova, with meringue and fresh fruit, is the dessert people come back for, and the ham and gruyère croissants are popular too.

Mornings bring a to-go crowd, and remote workers come mid-morning for the wifi and outlets. You can buy single origins and blends in the shop or online, and they offer a subscription.
