Smokestack Roasters

Smokestack Roasters is in a former auto shop in Lunenburg. It's a big industrial space with exposed brick, vintage décor and garage doors that open on nice days. You can see the small-batch roasting from your seat, with burlap bags of beans from around the world stacked nearby.

The espresso drinks are the thing to order. They're pulled on high-end equipment. The pastry case is all house-made, with gluten-free and vegan options. Quiche, flourless chocolate cake and the rotating cookies are the favorites, and there are bagels and light breakfast too.

Seating ranges from armchairs and old couches to café tables and booths, and there's a kids' corner with books and toys. It's good for working, catching up with friends or a slow weekend morning. You can buy beans to take home, and they'll grind them for you and help you pick.
