The Bird & Billy

The Bird & Billy is a family-run café on South Main in Kalispell, and the staff learn your name fast. They make their own flavorings and syrups and serve small-batch single-origin roasts, so the cortado changes a bit as the beans rotate.

Start with the Rwanda espresso cortado. The yerba mate latte with vanilla cardamom is one of the house specials, and the matcha's good too. For food there's avocado toast, the Spaniard sandwich, muffins, cookies and sourdough baked goods.

The room's warm and well lit, with lots of tables, and it fills up with writers, readers and students by mid-morning. One customer called the vibe "hippy dippy study." There are roadside tables outside where dogs are welcome.
