The Coffee Apothecary

The Coffee Apothecary is an independent café in Taos. It's clean and airy, with window-bar seating looking out on Paseo Del Sur and picnic tables outside. Locals and visitors both end up here, and many of the baristas know regulars by name and order. The wifi's good.

They roast light and medium roasts in-house, and on some days you can watch. The East Timor single origin is the standout, and El Capitan is the espresso blend. Beyond coffee there are golden milk lattes, house-made chai, matcha and mushroom-cacao drinks.

They sell beans by the pound, and lots of locals restock every week.
