The Doghouse Coffee

The Doghouse Coffee in Lapeer is woman- and veteran-owned, and the whole shop is built around dogs. There are pup cups, dog treats and pup meetups, and their coffee supports dog rescue. It's warm and trendy, with couches, high-tops, desks, big windows and toddler toys. There's plenty of parking in back, and a second location in Metamora. There's no outdoor seating.

They roast small batches in-house. The peanut butter blonde is the regular order, and specialty drinks rotate monthly. There are baked goods, and you can shop blends, flavored roasts and apparel online.
