The Espresso Shop is in a historic former butcher shop in downtown North Platte. It's bright, with communal tables and cozy corners, a chess board, open mic nights and occasional live music. There's free wifi and plenty of outlets.

Owner Brandon and his team roast in-house. The medium-roast espresso has toasted nut and mocha notes, and pour-overs showcase single origins. The avocado toast with hummus and a fried egg is a favorite, the chicken salad is famous locally, and the green chile breakfast burrito is popular too. The cinnamon rolls often sell out. You can buy beans, and they ship. It's an easy stop off I-80.
