The Merchant

The Merchant is in Bixby Knolls, Long Beach, owned by locals Mike and Andrea. The inside is small. The patio has string lights, umbrellas, picnic tables and bistro seats. There's no wifi. They host trivia and evenings with chili bread bowls and live music.

They roast in-house with zero emissions. The vanilla honey oat latte is the favorite. There are flat whites and seasonal drinks like a sage latte. Pastries are baked daily, including jalapeño cheese and guava croissants and baguettes. The turkey havarti croissant is popular. Come early before things sell out.
