The Muse Coffee Company & Roastery in Garner is a satellite of the original Muse in Virginia, and the small NC footprint roasts its own coffee on site. The room is laid-back and beautiful, with classical music playing not too loud, warm and inviting at off-peak hours and cramped and small when the rush hits. One regular called it an undiscovered gem. The cozy ambiance is real, and so are the bottlenecks.

Order the Christmas In A Cup Latte if it's on the seasonal board, or the Mama Drama latte (caramel, chocolate, and toffee nut working together) if you want something a little louder. The spicy dirty chai latte is a strong dark-side option. For food, the Man Bun sandwich has a following, the daydream sandwich is a quieter favorite, and the avocado toast comes with pepper jelly that does more work than you'd expect. Special-origin coffees rotate alongside the signature seasonal lattes.

The military discount is honored, which matters in a town with the bases close by. Work-from-home customers settle in, students post up, and small groups use it as a meeting spot. Garner locals form the base. But the small footprint has consequences worth naming directly. Waits of 30-plus minutes show up at peak. There's often only one barista on bar at peak.
