Valhalla Coffee Co.

Valhalla Coffee Co. is a small roastery café in Tacoma that's all about coffee. Everything's roasted in-house, and you can see the roasting from the counter. Sometimes the staff will even show you around. Their roasts lean dark, rich and full-bodied, and the beans are visibly fresh.

The honey latte is the house favorite. The mocha isn't too sweet, and the Ethiopian Harrar pour-over is a standout single origin. The espresso is well pulled.

Seating's limited: a few tables along the walls and a window bar. It's a comfortable place for a coffee and a chat or a little reading. They don't serve food, but you're welcome to bring a snack. Beans come by the pound or half-pound, and they ship anywhere in the country.
