Owner Oscar grinds the beans for every coffee served, one cup at a time, at Wake Up Marco on Marco Island. The tiny cafe runs European/Italian style espresso, has a no-plug-in policy (no laptop, no phone charging), and builds enough rapport with regulars that they don't need to order. The regulars are locals, tourists who specifically walked past two Starbucks to get there, daily-ritual customers, and anyone wanting a personal European-style coffee experience rather than a corporate one. A few honest things. This is not a laptop-worker cafe by stated policy. Large parties don't fit, and the room doesn't pretend to. Hours close at 3:45pm, which is earlier than most coffee shops and worth knowing.
