Whiff Roasters

The shop side is new. Whiff has been roasting on E Main St in Lititz for years, but only recently added retail and a coffee shop frontage to the operation, and you can still tell which part of the business is the older one. The catalog runs to dozens of flavored coffees in caffeinated and decaf, which puts this firmly in the dessert-coffee tradition rather than the third-wave one. That's not a criticism. That's the offer, stated plainly.

Jamaican Me Crazy is the bestseller. Mudslide, Sinful Delight, Dark Chocolate Aztec round out the list of names that show up most often when regulars are recommending the shop to friends. Sample portion packs let you taste before committing to a full bag, which is most of how new customers figure out what they like without getting stuck with twelve ounces of something they tried once and won't drink again. The salted caramel latte and the chai are the drinks to order at the counter on a visit.

The room is small and warm. The smell of roasting hits at the door and stays with you until you leave the parking lot. One regular described the seating as squished, which is fair. There are benches outside that fill up fast when the weather cooperates. Two staff are usually on the floor and they know what they're doing with samples, suggestions, and matching customers to the right flavored bag.

This is a place for flavored-coffee drinkers and gift shoppers who want to sample before buying a full bag to take home. It is not a laptop workspace and shouldn't be treated as one. Seating is tight enough that lingering past a single cup starts to feel like overstaying, and the regulars treat the shop as a grab-and-go or a take-home-the-beans operation rather than a sit-and-stay. Treat it the same way and the trip works as intended. Whiff knows what it is. The newer storefront hasn't changed that.
